Following the devastating disasters that struck in the United States and around the world in recent years, we identified the need for a comprehensive plan for the Company’s philanthropic response to major disasters. While OppenheimerFunds and its employees have responded generously to past relief efforts, we believe that a formal disaster relief program will help us provide a more timely, thoughtful and efficient response in the future.
We believe this approach will give our employees and the public a better sense of when and how OppenheimerFunds will respond to disasters as well as make the most effective use possible out of the combined resources of OppenheimerFunds and its employees.
